1.1. We are Cedar Mobile Pte. Ltd. a private limited company (“Cedar Mobile”, “Company”, “We”, “Us”, “Our”) incorporated and registered in Singapore at 152 Beach Road, #23/02 Gateway East, Singapore 189721. Our Singapore ACRA Registration UEN is 202513698D.

1.2. Your privacy is very important to us. That is why we have developed this Privacy Policy which sets out how Cedar Mobile may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process personal data of our customers in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (“PDPA”) of Singapore. This Privacy Policy applies to personal data in our possession or under our control. We also take reasonable steps to ensure that organisations engaged by Cedar Mobile to process personal data on our behalf protect such data appropriately.

1.3. By using our Website you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

2.         Information we collect from you

2.1. When you contact us or make a purchase on our Website, we collect certain information as part of the buying and selling process. 

2.2. We may collect your personal information when you: 

  • Sign up for our services.
  • Use our network, including through our partner mobile network operators, and other Cedar Mobile products or services.
  • Register for a specific product or service.
  • Sign up for alerts or newsletters.
  • Reach out to us with a question or a request for support
  • Take part in a survey.
  • Visit our Websites or use our Apps (via cookies, mobile advertising IDs, and similar technologies).
  • Participate in Cedar Rewards or related promotional programmes, including those operated through third-party platforms.
  • Submit a product or service review, rating, testimonial or other user-generated content, including through third-party review platforms.

2.3. Information we collect includes:

  • Personal information such as your name, date of birth, address, phone number, and email address.
  • Account details such as the registered services you use or other details related to your account, including payment due dates, receipt dates, recharge or top-up information, and other data related to your account.
  • Service quality information, such as IP addresses, MAC addresses, network errors, metadata or other matters that may affect your experience with our services.
  • Products and services information, such as information about how you use our products and services, for example which eSIM profiles you use for mobile data. This usage data helps us bill you accurately, but please note that we do not have access to the actual content of your mobile data.
  • Payment method and details including banking and credit card details and billing history to allow us to validate and receive payment from you for our services.
  • Loyalty and rewards programme information, such as points earned or redeemed, referral activity, reward redemptions, programme participation status, and related account identifiers.
  • Reviews, ratings, feedback, testimonials and related user-generated content, which may include your name, or chosen display name, email address, order reference, rating score, review text, images or other content you choose to submit.
  • Technical and device information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language settings, time zone, network type, and installation or activation status of eSIM profiles, which helps us deliver eSIM services, troubleshoot issues, and improve service performance. This information does not include the content of your communications or internet activity.


3.         How we use your information

3.1. We only use your personal information for the specific purposes it was collected for. This means we may use your information to:

  • Verify your identity.
  • Manage your account and help you with any account related tasks.
  • Contact you when necessary, for example to let you know about service related issues.
  • Manage your use of our network and maintain the performance of our services.
  • Investigate and respond to any questions or complaints you may have.
  • Let you know about additional products or services we offer.
  • Ensure security and help prevent fraud or other criminal activity.
  • Conduct fraud detection, transaction monitoring, and risk assessment, including verifying payment details, device or network information, and related signals, and to decline or restrict transactions that are identified as suspicious or high-risk.
  • Comply with any applicable laws and regulations, or to assist in law enforcement and investigations conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority
  • Operate, administer and manage Cedar Rewards and related promotional programmes, including allocating points, processing redemptions, preventing misuse, and communicating programme-related updates.
  • Collect, display, moderate, analyse and manage customer reviews, ratings and feedback relating to our products and services, including for quality assurance, transparency, and service improvement purposes.

3.2. We may send you service-related communications, as well as marketing, promotional and rewards-related updates about Cedar Mobile products, services, offers and updates, where permitted by applicable law or where you have provided consent. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe option provided or by contacting us. Such communications may be sent by email, SMS, push notification or other electronic communication channels.

3.3. We may monitor Rewards, referral and promotional activity to detect misuse, fraudulent behaviour, duplicate accounts, or abuse of programme benefits. 

3.4. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited personal data with trusted third-party service providers who support our operations, including providers of customer support, analytics, payment processing, marketing, and loyalty or rewards programme services, and customer review or feedback services. These service providers process personal data on our behalf solely to support Cedar Mobile services. They are contractually required to keep your data secure and confidential and may only use it in accordance with our instructions and applicable data protection laws.

4.        We may disclose your personal data

4.1. We may disclose your personal data:

  • Where such disclosure is required for performing obligations in the course of our provision of the goods and services requested by you.
  • to help prevent fraud or crime detection and protect the integrity of our services to you.
  • For the purpose of processing applications and providing you with our services during which other international telecommunications providers or service partners may process your personal data on our behalf.
  • If you breach our Terms of Service or if we are obliged by law to do so.

4.2. Without limiting the foregoing, Cedar Mobile uses third-party platforms to operate its loyalty, rewards and referral programmes. Where you participate in such programmes, we may disclose limited personal data (such as your name, email address, account identifier, transaction or event data, and rewards status) to these providers, solely for the purpose of administering and operating the programme on our behalf.

4.3. Cedar Mobile uses third-party review and feedback platforms to collect and display customer reviews and ratings. Where you submit a review or rating, we may disclose limited personal data (such as your name or display name, email address, order reference, rating and review content) to these providers, including Judge.me, solely for the purpose of verifying, moderating, publishing and managing customer reviews on our behalf.

4.4. Cedar Mobile may integrate customer account functionality across our Website, App, Rewards and related service environments to provide a seamless customer experience.

5.        Implied consent

5.1. When you provide us with your personal information, such as to complete a purchase, validate your credit card, place an order, schedule a delivery, or to access our services or arrange a refund you are giving us your consent to collect and use that information to manage your account. We shall only use it for the specific purpose for which it was provided. 

5.2. We may also collect, use or disclose your personal data for additional purposes related to the services described in clauses 2 and 3. If we intend to rely on deemed consent by notification for such secondary purposes, we will notify you of the proposed collection, use or disclosure of his personal data through an appropriate mode of communication.

5.3. You will be given a reasonable period to inform us if you wish to opt-out of the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data for such purposes.

5.4. Participation in our loyalty and/or rewards programmes is optional. Should you join our programmes we shall send you communications in order to administer and fulfill the programmes. 

5.5. By submitting a review, rating or testimonial, you consent to Cedar Mobile collecting, using, displaying, publishing and managing such content, together with your chosen display name, on our Website and App, marketing materials, and other communication channels, subject to applicable laws. You may request removal of a review at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer.

 

6.        Reliance on the legitimate interests exception

6.1. In compliance with the PDPA, we may collect, use or disclose your personal data without your consent for the legitimate interests of Cedar Mobile or another party. In relying on the legitimate interests exception of the PDPA, Cedar Mobile will assess the likely adverse effects on the individual and determine that the legitimate interests outweigh any adverse effect. 

6.2. In line with the legitimate interests exception, we will collect, use or disclose your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Fraud detection and prevention; and
  • Detection and prevention of misuse of services.

6.3. The purposes listed above may continue to apply even in situations where our contract has terminated or altered in any way, and for a reasonable period thereafter as may be required by law.

7.         Withdrawing your consent

7.1. The consent you give us to collect, use, and share your personal information stays valid until you choose to withdraw it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by sending an email to our Data Protection Officer by email and the contact details below.

7.2. Once we receive your request, we may need a bit of time to process it, especially if the request is complex or may affect how we provide our services to you. We aim to respond within 30 business days and will let you know if there are any consequences, including any legal implications that might affect your rights or our ability to continue providing our services.

7.3. While we respect your decision, please understand that depending on the nature of your request, we might not be able to continue offering some or all of our services. If that is the case, we shall let you know before we complete your request. 7.4. Even if you withdraw your consent, there may be situations where we are still legally allowed or required to collect, use, or share your information without your consent, in line with applicable laws.

8.2. Cookies can track things like your browsing activity and include a unique ID so the Website can recognize you when you come back. Generally, cookies do not contain personal information unless you have already shared that information with us.

9.        Children’s Data

9.1. Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal data from children under 18. If we become aware that personal data of a child has been collected without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete such data as soon as practicable.

10.       Access to and correction of personal data

10.1. If you would like to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you or find out how we use or share it, or correct or update any of your personal details, you can send your request by email to our Data Protection Officer using the contact details provided below. 

10.2. Please note that we may charge a reasonable fee for access requests. If a fee applies, we’ll let you know before we begin processing your request. 

10.3. We will do our best to respond to your request as quickly as possible, usually within 30 business days. If we need more time, we shall let you know within those 30 days and give you an estimated timeline. If, for any reason, we cannot provide the information or make the correction, we shall explain why, unless the law prevents us from doing so.

11.        Protection of personal data

11.1. We take the protection of your personal data seriously. To keep it safe from unauthorised access, use, or sharing, we have put in place strong security measures, like limiting the amount of data we collect, using access controls, and following good password practices. Only those who need your information to do their job can access it.

11.2. That said, no method of sending or storing data online is ever 100% secure. While we can’t guarantee absolute security, we are committed to protecting your information and continuously improving our security practices.

12.       Accuracy of personal data

12.1. We usually rely on the personal information you provide to us. To help us keep your details accurate and up to date, please let us know if anything changes by contacting our Data Protection Officer by email using the contact details below.

13.       Retention of personal data

13.1. We shall keep your personal information only for as long as it is needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law.

13.2. Once we no longer need your information for those purposes, we shall either delete it or remove any details that could link it back to you, whichever is appropriate.

14.       Transfers of personal data outside of Singapore 

14.1. The service provided by Cedar Mobile can by its very nature be accessed in Singapore and globally. For data protection purposes, Cedar Mobile is the main organisation responsible for your personal data and, unless stated otherwise, also handles the processing of that data.

14.2. Your information may be stored, processed, or accessed in countries outside Singapore where privacy laws may be different and potentially offer less protection.

14.3. To provide you with the best customer support, Cedar Mobile also works with trusted third-party service providers. Some of your data may be shared with them as needed to deliver the service. These partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and can only access your data to provide support-related services.

14.4. Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, Cedar Mobile will take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas transfers comply with the PDPA and that your personal data continues to receive a standard of protection comparable to that under Singapore law, including through contractual safeguards, confidentiality obligations, and other lawful transfer mechanisms.

16.       Business Transfers
 

16.1. If Cedar Mobile is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. In such cases, we will ensure that any transfer of personal data continues to be subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations in accordance with applicable laws.
